Where to Go Scouting Guide

Want an adventure? Check out one of these exciting high adventure programs!

The BSA operates four exciting high adventure bases where your unit can experience unparalleled excitement and adventure! The legendary Philmont Scout Ranch is a working ranch in the mountains of New Mexico. Famous for its hiking trails, Philmont is also host to a wide variety of other activities, such as gold panning, burro packing, and cowboy action shooting. The Florida Sea Base is a place for amazing adventure amidst the Florida Keys, with scuba diving, sailing boats, and even an island! Northern Tier is the epitome of canoeing, set in the many lakes of Minnesota. Home of the National Jamboree, the Summit Bechtel Reserve is quickly becoming known for incredible climbing, whitewater rafting, zip lines, shooting, and more! You can attend any of these bases with your unit, or join a council contingent.

Are you a youth Arrowman? Then you may qualify to attend an OA High Adventure program – experiencing and providing service to any of the four national high adventure bases at a much lower cost! Programs are available at all four national high adventure bases. You’ll spend the first half of your time providing service to the base – which will benefit thousands of Scouts. Then, you’ll embark on an epic adventure at the base. The OA High Adventure Program will change your life! Go here to learn more.
